Adoption
Support Groups

If you're ready to begin or have started the adoption process, you'll find an adoption support group invaluable.  You'll receive lots of information and support.  Groups meet weekly for 8 weeks.

The groups discuss fears about adoption, choosing the child and type of adoption right for you, and family and friends' attitudes.  You'll learn about international and independent adoption and how to select an agency or attorney.  You'll understand the homestudy, adoption resumes and dossiers, finding and working with birthparents, and costs.  Adoption professionals, adult adoptees, birthparents, and adoptive parents may speak to the group.

Ideally, these groups create lasting friendships.  You'll gain a network of adoptive families who'll share tips, celebrate your successes, and help you through setbacks.  Cost is $150 per person. Open Path membership is required. To enroll, please call the Area Coordinator listed below.
